A leading not-for-profit organisation is looking for an experienced Lead Microsoft Fabric Consultant to support a wider CRM, data and Microsoft applications transformation programme.
The role will focus on assessing the suitability of Microsoft Fabric as the organisation’s future data and analytics platform, identifying the associated technical, operational, security and governance risks, and providing clear recommendations to senior stakeholders.
This is primarily an advisory, architecture and assessment-focused role, requiring someone who can evaluate the platform within the context of a broader Microsoft ecosystem rather than simply implement Fabric workloads.
Key Responsibilities
This is not purely a Fabric engineering position. The organisation needs someone capable of taking an independent view of the platform, understanding the risks and opportunities associated with adoption, and helping senior stakeholders determine where Fabric should — and should not — form part of the future Microsoft technology landscape.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead an assessment of Microsoft Fabric and its suitability for the organisation’s future data and analytics requirements
- Evaluate how Fabric should integrate with the wider CRM and Microsoft applications landscape, including Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Azure and Microsoft 365
- Assess technical and architectural risks associated with adopting Fabric
- Review data security, governance, privacy, access control and regulatory considerations
- Assess data architecture, integration patterns, data residency and information lifecycle requirements
- Review the potential use of OneLake, Lakehouse, Fabric Data Warehouse, Data Factory, Power BI and related Fabric capabilities
- Evaluate Fabric capacity, scalability, performance and licensing considerations
- Identify potential dependencies, limitations and risks associated with migrating or consolidating existing data platforms
- Define appropriate governance and operating models for Fabric
- Assess the impact of Fabric adoption on existing reporting, analytics, integration and CRM capabilities
- Produce architectural recommendations, risk assessments and options papers for senior stakeholders
- Develop a high-level Fabric adoption roadmap aligned with the wider transformation programme
- Work closely with enterprise architects, CRM teams, Microsoft partners, data teams and senior business stakeholders
- Provide independent technical challenge to implementation partners and proposed solution designs
- Strong experience designing and advising on Microsoft Fabric solutions.
- Excellent understanding of Fabric architecture, including:
- OneLake
- Lakehouse
- Data Warehouse
- Data Factory
- Power BI
- Data engineering and integration workloads
- Strong Microsoft Azure data and analytics architecture experience
- Experience conducting technology assessments, architecture reviews or platform evaluations
- Strong understanding of data governance, security and information management
- Experience evaluating enterprise data platforms from a risk, scalability and operational perspective
- Good understanding of integration across the Microsoft ecosystem, ideally including Dynamics 365, Power Platform and Azure
- Ability to translate complex technical risks and architectural decisions into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders
- Experience working on large-scale business or technology transformation programmes
- Strong consultative skills with the ability to challenge vendors, implementation partners and internal stakeholders
