Senior Workday Specialist

We are partnering with a large, well-established organisation in Ontario that is continuing to invest heavily in its Workday environment following a major enterprise transformation.

This is an opportunity to join a growing internal Workday team where you will have genuine ownership of the platform rather than simply working through support tickets.

The organisation has a long history in Ontario, supports a large and complex workforce and operates across multiple locations. Workday is becoming an increasingly important part of how the organisation operates, creating significant opportunity for optimisation, automation and continued development.

The role
We are looking for a Senior Workday Functional Specialist with strong expertise across:

• Workday Benefits
• Workday Compensation
• Workday Core HCM

These are the three core competencies for the position.

You will work closely with internal HR, technology and Workday teams to improve the existing environment, deliver enhancements and help shape how Workday develops moving forward.

What you will be doing

• Own configuration across Benefits, Compensation and Core HCM
• Review and improve existing Workday business processes
• Gather requirements directly from HR and business stakeholders
• Translate requirements into scalable Workday solutions
• Troubleshoot functional and configuration issues
• Deliver Workday enhancements and continuous improvements
• Support Workday releases and new functionality
• Complete functional, regression and integration testing
• Assess downstream impacts before configuration changes are deployed
• Develop Workday reports, calculated fields and dashboards
• Improve automation and reduce manual processes
• Maintain configuration and testing documentation
• Work alongside technical, integration and reporting specialists

What we are looking for

• Strong hands-on Workday configuration experience
• Core HCM experience
• Benefits experience
• Compensation experience
• 3+ years of Workday experience
• 5+ years of overall ERP or enterprise systems experience
• Strong Workday business process knowledge
• Requirements gathering and business analysis experience
• Production support and post-go-live Workday experience
• Workday testing and release experience
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Nice to have

• Workday certification
• Higher education or public sector experience
• Experience within a large or complex Workday environment
• Reporting and calculated fields experience
• Exposure to Workday automation or emerging functionality

Location requirements
