Azure Project Manager

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the day-to-day delivery of a large-scale VMware-to-Microsoft Azure migration programme.

This is a senior delivery role requiring strong experience managing complex cloud transformation and migration projects, coordinating multiple technical workstreams, third-party suppliers and senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of a large-scale VMware-to-Azure migration programme.
  
  
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, milestones, dependencies and migration schedules.
  
  
• Coordinate migration waves, ensuring workloads are successfully planned, sequenced and delivered into Azure.
  
  
• Own project governance, including RAID management, reporting, actions and escalation.
  
  
• Proactively identify delivery risks, dependencies and blockers and drive them through to resolution.
  
  
• Manage multiple technical and business workstreams across a complex programme environment.
  
  
• Coordinate subcontracted and third-party resources, ensuring delivery against agreed cost, quality and timescale objectives.
  
  
• Work closely with Azure/cloud architects, engineers, application teams and business stakeholders.
  
  
• Provide clear programme updates and communications to senior executives, customers and key stakeholders.
  
  
• Ensure project objectives remain aligned with wider business and third-party requirements.
  
  
• Coach and support junior Project Managers and wider delivery team members.
  
  

Essential Experience

• Strong experience as a Senior Project Manager delivering large-scale technology transformation programmes.
  
  
• Proven delivery experience across Microsoft Azure and cloud migration programmes.
  
  
• Experience managing VMware-to-Azure, data centre-to-cloud or similar infrastructure migration programmes.
  
  
• Strong understanding of migration planning, workload sequencing, migration waves and technical dependencies.
  
  
• Excellent experience across governance, RAID, project planning, stakeholder management and executive reporting.
  
  
• Experience managing third-party suppliers and subcontracted technical resources.
  
  
• Strong customer-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
  
  
• Microsoft Project – intermediate level or above.
  
  
• Jira – intermediate level or above.
  
  

This role would suit a Senior Project Manager who combines strong programme governance with hands-on experience delivering complex Azure cloud migration and infrastructure transformation programmes.
