D365 CE Tech lead

As the D365 CE Tech Lead, you will serve as the technical backbone of our Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement team. You will define project goals, establish working methodologies, and design the technical architecture to drive our development efforts. Acting as the primary technical contact for our developers, you will collaborate closely with the Lead D365 Consultant—our functional and process architecture expert—to form the architecture leadership duo. Your active participation in development ensures you remain hands-on, contributing directly to plugin creation, custom APIs, interfaces, and complex features.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set clear objectives, establish working methods, and shape the technical architecture for the development team, fostering a culture of engineering excellence.
• Lead by example through active contribution; develop plugins, custom APIs, interfaces, and intricate technical features.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure maintainability of plugins, JavaScript extensions, PCF controls, and Power Automate flows.
• Oversee the technical architecture of solution layers—including Managed Solutions, Publisher prefixes, and ALM pipelines in Azure DevOps—ensuring a robust separation between customization and pro-code development.
• Design, develop, and oversee interfaces to third-party systems, from API architecture to authentication protocols.
• Document architectural decisions transparently via Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), ensuring clarity and consistency.
• Manage the release of technical solutions, coordinate product releases, and oversee hotfix processes for urgent issues.
• Mentor team members across various experience levels, fostering professional growth and skill development.
• Represent the team in cross-functional architecture meetings, serving as a trusted technical sparring partner on architectural topics.

What We Need:

• Over 5 years of hands-on experience developing on Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE and the Power Platform.
• Deep expertise in plugins and custom APIs using C#/.NET, JavaScript/TypeScript (Xrm client API), Power Automate, and the Dataverse data model.
• Proven experience with solution layering, ALM processes, CI/CD pipelines, and multi-environment deployment strategies using Azure DevOps and Git.
• Strong background in designing and implementing integrations with third-party systems via REST/Web-APIs, Azure Functions, and Service Bus.
• Proficiency managing Azure Portal configurations in a D365 environment—including App Registrations, Service Principals, Secrets Management with Azure Key Vault, and monitoring via Application Insights.
• Expert knowledge in designing and evaluating cloud architectures within Microsoft Azure, with a solid understanding of when to choose plugins, Azure Functions, or integration services.
• Demonstrable experience in technical leadership—serving as a Tech Lead, Lead Developer, or mentoring team members.
• Ability to make, document, and communicate architectural decisions effectively to both team and stakeholders.
• Fluent in German and English (minimum C1+ proficiency).

Nice to Have:

• Experience with PCF controls, especially with React.
• Relevant certifications such as PL-400 or PL-600.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks like FakeXrmEasy or similar for the Power Platform.
• Functional knowledge of Dynamics 365 Sales and Customer Insights.
