The Opportunity

The Workday Director - Practice Area Lead will be responsible for leading and overseeing delivery methodology within the Workday Financials Accounting Practice. This role will focus on strategic direction, delivery excellence, profitability, and team leadership across the Workday Financials portfolio.
The ideal candidate will combine strong delivery management experience with a deep understanding of Workday Financials, practice development, and people leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery Leadership
  • Drive innovation across practices to improve delivery efficiency and quality.
  • Develop and maintain practice methodology, ensuring alignment with broader Professional Services standards.
  • Educate teams on Workday best practices, tools, and automation opportunities.
  • Collaborate with global services counterparts to refine delivery frameworks and methodologies.
  • Oversee resource planning, staffing, and skills alignment across projects.
Profitability & Growth
  • Maximize practice area profitability through utilization management and global delivery optimization.
  • Support sales efforts by providing solution expertise during sales cycles and contributing to proposal development.
  • Identify cross-domain training and automation opportunities to enhance delivery scalability.
People Leadership
  • Inspire, mentor, and develop team members to achieve their highest potential.
  • Support professional development, training, and performance management across the practice.
  • Lead initiatives for colleague engagement, retention, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, career discussions, and succession planning for leadership roles.
Project Oversight
  • Lead key areas of large and complex Workday Financials projects and/or multiple concurrent engagements.
  • Contribute to client proposal development and participate in client meetings.
  • Maintain up to 50% billable utilization, ensuring high-quality client delivery.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including consulting and leadership responsibilities.
  • Prior experience in client delivery and people management.
  • Workday Financials certification (or other Financials module certification) required.
  • Strong background in professional services methodology and practice management.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without current or future visa sponsorship.
