Key Responsibilities Database Administration & Support
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 DBA support for Oracle database-related issues
- Diagnose, manage, and resolve incidents and service requests in a timely manner
- Open, manage, and drive resolution of Oracle Service Requests (SRs) with Oracle Support
- Act as risk cover for the Oracle environment, ensuring business continuity
- Ensure issues are properly resolved, regression-tested, and reviewed
- Maintain the security, integrity, and availability of databases and data
- Perform application and database tuning
- Monitor database performance and proactively identify potential issues
- Conduct investigative troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Manage backup and recovery processes
- Support and maintain Disaster Recovery solutions
- Validate recoverability and ensure procedures are documented and reliable
- Support the ongoing maintenance of legacy Oracle environments, including those recently upgraded to 19c
- Undertake installations, upgrades, migrations, and patch management
- Support Oracle E-Business Suite environments (Database & Application Server)
- Strong hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA (Level 2/3)
- Proven experience supporting legacy Oracle environments
- Solid knowledge of Oracle 19c
- Experience working with Oracle E-Business Suite
- Strong understanding of backup, recovery, and DR strategies
- Comfortable working independently in a remote contract role
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
