BI Engineer
We are hiring a BI Engineer to join a leading global organisation within the publishing sector, operating across multiple international markets and driving innovation through data and technology.
Our client is investing heavily in building a modern Business Intelligence platform to support data-driven decision-making across the organisation. They require a hands-on BI Engineer to help transform and optimise an existing reporting environment into a scalable, high-performing BI ecosystem.
As the successful BI Engineer you will;
• Lead the consolidation and optimisation of Power BI semantic models, ensuring a single, consistent source of truth across all reporting.
• Refactor and improve existing BI solutions that are not currently meeting business needs
• Design and develop scalable data models using Azure Analysis Services (Tabular)
• Remove legacy or fragmented data connections (including Salesforce dependencies) and streamline data architecture
• Build, optimise, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards
• Develop complex calculations and measures using advanced DAX
• Use Power Query (M) to transform and shape data for reporting purposes
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into robust BI solutions
• Ensure data accuracy, performance, and reliability across the BI platform
• Contribute to BI best practices, governance, and documentation
You will have strong experience in:
• Proven experience as a BI Engineer or similar role in a data-focused environment
• Strong expertise in Power BI,
• Advanced knowledge of DAX
• Experience with Power Query (M) for data transformation
• Hands-on experience with Azure Analysis Services and Tabular modelling
• Experience consolidating and optimising data models into a single source of truth
• Strong understanding of data architecture, modelling, and BI best practices
• Ability to work hands-on and independently to improve and rebuild existing systems
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
Desirable:
• Experience working with Salesforce and/or Salesforce CPQ
