  • £750 to £850 Per: day + Benefits: N/A
  • Greater London, South East,
  • Contract
We are supporting a pioneering AI and automotive technology organisation seeking an experienced Senior C++ Software Engineer to join a highly technical engineering team on a contract basis.

This is a hands-on software engineering role focused on designing and building a robust, production-grade C++ library that forms part of a vehicle software platform. The emphasis is on clean software architecture, API design and software infrastructure rather than robotics research or algorithm development.

You will work alongside calibration, robotics and platform engineers to develop a maintainable software component responsible for storing and retrieving vehicle calibration data reliably across multiple compute platforms.

This opportunity would suit a senior engineer who enjoys building elegant, high-quality C++ software, integrating with existing systems, and delivering production-ready code within a collaborative engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop a production-quality C++ library for storing and retrieving vehicle calibration data.
  • Build clean, reusable APIs that integrate with multiple software components across the vehicle platform.
  • Implement robust interactions with persistent storage and file system interfaces.
  • Integrate with existing platform services and software abstractions.
  • Develop efficient, maintainable C++ code suitable for deployment on automotive compute platforms.
  • Ensure solutions remain lightweight, scalable and free from unnecessary complexity.
  • Support validation and testing across multiple hardware and software platform variants.
  • Collaborate with calibration, robotics and platform engineering teams to ensure seamless integration.
  • Produce clear technical documentation covering APIs, implementation decisions and handover material.
  • Work independently to deliver high-quality software with minimal supervision.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Extensive commercial C++ development experience.
  • Proven experience building production-quality software libraries, frameworks or infrastructure components.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, API design and modern C++ best practices.
  • Experience working with persistent storage, file systems or other low-level software interfaces.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals with a focus on maintainability, performance and code quality.
  • Experience integrating new components into existing complex software environments.
  • Ability to write clean, efficient and well-tested code without over-engineering.
  • Comfortable working independently within highly technical engineering teams.
  • Delivery-focused with excellent problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to engineering challenges.
This is an inside IR35 Contract role working via umbrella company and will require you to be onsite 2 days per week in Central London.
