Overview Our client, a manufacturing organisation in Ireland, is seeking an experienced Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant to support an ongoing programme of improvements, optimisation, and enhancements across the supply chain modules. The ideal consultant will have strong hands on experience across Inventory Management, Warehousing, and Procurement, with a proven track record delivering Business Central solutions in manufacturing environments.

This role will work closely with internal business stakeholders, operational teams, and external partners to ensure Business Central is configured, optimised, and leveraged effectively to meet operational needs.

Key Responsibilities Functional Delivery
  • Lead functional analysis, requirements gathering, and solution design across Inventory, Warehouse, and Procurement modules in D365 Business Central.
  • Configure BC to support manufacturing supply chain processes including stock management, MRP, quality, replenishment, purchase workflows, and warehouse operations.
  • Provide expert guidance on best practices specific to the manufacturing sector, ensuring system processes align with industry?standard operational workflows.
  • Support users with issue resolution, troubleshooting, and functional enhancements.
Project & Change Support
  • Translate business requirements into functional documentation, user stories, process flows, and configuration changes.
  • Support system upgrades, rollouts, integrations, and key improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with technical teams on customisations, extensions, and integrations with third party systems (e.g., WMS, MES, supplier portals).
  • Assist with data migration, master data structuring, and inventory data accuracy.
Testing & Training
  • Create and execute test plans across functional areas including UAT, regression testing, and scenario validation.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions, user documentation, and onboarding for supply chain and operations teams.
Key Skills & Experience Essential
  • 4+ years’ experience as a D365 Business Central (or NAV) Functional Consultant.
  • Strong functional expertise in:
    • Inventory Management
    • Warehousing (basic & advanced)
    • Procurement
    • Purchasing workflows
    • Item management, BOMs, and manufacturing-related stock processes
  • Experience working within manufacturing or production-driven environments.
  • Solid understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes and how they translate within BC.
  • Ability to run workshops, gather requirements, and design BC solutions.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
  • Exposure to integrating BC with external WMS/MES systems.
  • Knowledge of Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate).
  • Experience supporting multi-site environments.
