We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with deep domain expertise in sports betting and/or online casino, who can bridge business, product, and technology. This person will play a critical role in ensuring that proposed platform architectures, product strategies, and operating models are grounded in real-world gambling operations and market practices.
This engagement sits at the intersection of product, platform architecture, and gambling operations, with a strong emphasis on modern, cloud-native digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as a bridge between business/product and technology teams
- Validate that target architectures support end-to-end betting and gambling workflows
- Advise on sportsbook and casino product capabilities, benchmarking against market standards
- Ensure initiatives and roadmaps are aligned to real use cases, not just theoretical designs
- Provide strategic input into platform evolution, including:
- Sportsbook functionality
- Casino aggregation models
- Risk and trading operations
- Support senior stakeholders across product, technology, and operations
- Cloud-native, containerised microservices architectures
- Event-driven systems (messaging, pub/sub)
- API-led and BFF-based architectures
- High-throughput, low-latency transaction systems
- Strong focus on scalability, resilience, observability, and security
Required Experience Domain Expertise (Essential)
- Deep experience in sports betting and/or online casino platforms
- Strong understanding of sportsbook concepts:
- Markets, odds, bet lifecycle, cashout, settlement
- Risk and trading models
- Exposure to:
- Casino platforms and aggregation models
- Multi-jurisdiction gambling environments
- Experience with:
- Operators, platform providers, or gambling technology vendors
- Experience working with modular gambling platforms where services are decoupled (betting, payments, risk, CRM)
- Familiarity with event-driven or service-oriented architectures
- Understanding of operating models involving:
- Product teams
- Trading & risk teams
- Engineering teams working in parallel
- Previous roles involving:
- Functional ownership or SME advisory in gambling platforms
- Product roadmap definition or platform evolution
- Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders
- Strong credibility in both business and technology discussions
