ISO 9001 Quality Control Programme Manager

An innovative AI and Automotive technology business is seeking an experienced Quality Control Programme Manager to lead the end-to-end design, implementation and operationalisation of its Quality Management System (QMS) and Integrated Management System (IMS).

This is a critical leadership role focused on establishing robust quality governance, driving organisational maturity, and preparing the business for ISO 9001 certification while ensuring alignment with Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) and automotive industry quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end rollout of an ISO 9001-compliant Quality Management System, from current-state assessment through to certification readiness
  • Design, implement and embed quality governance frameworks, policies, processes and controls across the organisation
  • Establish and operationalise an Integrated Management System (IMS) capable of supporting multiple regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Drive certification readiness activities, including gap assessments, remediation planning, audit preparation and evidence management
  • Implement and govern key quality processes, including document control, non-conformance management, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), risk management and continuous improvement
  • Ensure alignment between ISO 9001 requirements, ASPICE, and automotive customer quality expectations
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, Safety, Security and Risk teams to define, document and govern critical business processes
  • Lead cross-functional delivery programmes, ensuring milestones, governance and quality objectives are achieved
  • Drive organisational adoption of quality standards through effective change management and stakeholder engagement
  • Establish reporting, metrics and governance forums to provide visibility and accountability across the business
Essential Experience
  • Proven experience delivering an ISO 9001 Quality Management System implementation from design through to certification readiness and/or certification
  • Deep knowledge of ISO 9001, quality governance, audit preparation and quality assurance best practice
  • Strong understanding of Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) and its application within automotive software and product development environments
  • Significant programme management experience delivering complex, cross-functional quality and compliance initiatives
  • Experience implementing quality processes within automotive, engineering, software or technology-led organisations
  • Demonstrable track record of creating practical, scalable quality frameworks that become embedded in day-to-day operations
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and change leadership skills
  • Experience producing audit-ready policies, procedures, controls and supporting evidence frameworks
Desirable Experience
  • Experience building Integrated Management Systems covering multiple standards and compliance frameworks
  • Experience working directly with automotive OEMs and customer-driven quality requirements
  • Knowledge of functional safety, cybersecurity or related automotive standards
  • Experience leveraging automation and AI-enabled tooling to improve quality management processes and reporting
  • You will be a hands-on quality leader capable of operating in a fast-paced environment, balancing strategic quality governance with practical delivery
  • You will have a proven ability to drive ISO 9001 implementation programmes, embed quality culture, and establish the processes and controls required to support the delivery of automotive-grade products at scale
This is an Inside IR35 Contract role working via umbrella company and you will be required onsite in Central London at least 3 days per week, so you must be a resident in the UK able to commute to Central London regularly to be considered for this role.
