Role – We are seeking an experienced UK Payroll SME with SAP SuccessFactors experience to provide hands-on expertise across payroll operations, configuration, and compliance. This is a business-critical role supporting payroll delivery, enhancements, and optimisation, working closely with HR, Finance, IT, and third-party payroll providers to ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the UK Payroll SME, providing expert guidance, support, and issue resolution.
  • Configure, customise, and support payroll systems in line with UK payroll legislation.
  • Ensure full compliance with UK requirements including PAYE, National Insurance, RTI, statutory payments, and year-end processing.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, IT, and external partners to gather requirements and ensure seamless system integration.
  • Lead or support end-to-end payroll implementations, enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in testing cycles, documentation creation, and user training.
  • Advise stakeholders on payroll best practices to improve efficiency, accuracy, and control.

Key Skills:

  • Proven hands-on experience as a UK Payroll SME.
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
  • Experience integrating payroll solutions with SAP, non-SAP, Salesforce, or third-party payroll systems.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll schema and rule configuration, including troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capability.
  • Ability to work effectively with both functional and technical teams.

Desirable Skills
  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll.
  • Broader exposure to SAP HCM, including Time Management and Personnel Administration.
