Workday Accounting Centre Lead

Workday Accounting Centre Lead required for 6-12 month contract. REMOTE 

Can be based ANYWHERE in Europe

Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Workday Accounting Centre Lead to support a major Workday Finance programme. This role requires strong hands-on experience with Workday Accounting Centre and Workday Prism Analytics, with the ability to lead design, configuration, testing, deployment, and stakeholder engagement across complex finance transformation activity.

The successful candidate will act as the subject matter expert for Accounting Centre, working closely with finance, technology, data, integration, and reporting teams to ensure the solution is designed and delivered effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, configuration, and delivery of Workday Accounting Centre.
  
  
• Work with business stakeholders to understand accounting, finance, reporting, and data transformation requirements.
  
  
• Translate business requirements into scalable Workday Accounting Centre solutions.
  
  
• Support the design and use of Workday Prism Analytics in relation to Accounting Centre and financial data flows.
  
  
• Define accounting rules, mapping logic, data transformation requirements, and reconciliation processes.
  
  
• Partner with Workday Finance, integration, reporting, and data teams to ensure end-to-end solution alignment.
  
  
• Lead workshops, requirement-gathering sessions, design reviews, and playback sessions.
  
  
• Support testing phases including system testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing, defect resolution, and deployment readiness.
  
  
• Provide guidance on best practice, governance, controls, and data quality across Accounting Centre processes.
  
  
• Support cutover, go-live, hypercare, and post-go-live optimisation activity.
  
  
• Act as a trusted Workday Finance SME for Accounting Centre-related decisions.
  
  

Required Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Workday Accounting Centre.
  
  
• Experience with Workday Prism Analytics.
  
  
• Proven background working on Workday Finance implementations, deployments, or major enhancement programmes.
  
  
• Good understanding of financial accounting processes, journals, ledgers, reconciliations, reporting, and data transformation.
  
  
• Experience leading design and configuration activity within Workday.
  
  
• Ability to work with finance stakeholders, technical teams, data teams, and third-party delivery partners.
  
  
• Strong understanding of Workday data structures, integrations, reporting, and downstream finance impacts.
  
  
• Experience supporting testing, cutover, go-live, and hypercare.
  
  
• Ability to work independently as a senior SME or functional lead.
  
  Candidate should be certified in Workday Accounting Centre and/or Prism Analytics
  
  

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience acting as a Workday Accounting Centre Lead or Senior Workday Finance Consultant.
  
  
• Experience across broader Workday Financials modules.
  
  
• Experience with complex data transformation, financial reporting, or multi-entity finance environments.
  
  
• Experience working on global or multi-country Workday programmes.
  
  
• Workday certification would be advantageous but is not essential.

Candidate Profile This role would suit a senior Workday Finance professional who has strong Accounting Centre experience and can operate confidently as the lead SME. You should be comfortable owning workstreams, challenging requirements, guiding stakeholders, and ensuring the solution is robust, scalable, and fit for purpose.

You will need to be commercially aware, detail-oriented, and capable of working across both functional and technical teams.
