The Role
We are partnering with a leading professional services and Workday Partner organisation to source an experienced Workday Financials Data Lead on a contract basis. This is a specialist data-focused role sitting within an active Workday Finance delivery programme, requiring deep hands-on expertise across data migration, conversion strategy, and data quality management specifically within the Workday Financials ecosystem.
You will own the data workstream end-to-end, working closely with functional consultants, client data teams, and technical architects to ensure clean, accurate, and timely data migration across all Finance modules.
What You'll Be Doing
Leading the Workday Financials data migration strategy from initiation through go-live. Designing and managing data conversion plans across core Finance workstreams. Owning data extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) activities for legacy Finance systems into Workday. Collaborating with functional leads to map legacy data structures to Workday Finance configuration. Managing data validation, reconciliation, and sign-off processes across multiple parallel workstreams. Driving data quality assessments and cleansing activities in partnership with client data owners. Supporting mock conversion runs, parallel testing, and cutover data activities. Acting as the primary point of escalation for all Finance data-related issues across the programme.
Module and Domain Coverage Required
General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Expenses, Banking and Settlement, Business Assets, Budgets and Planning, Procure to Pay, Supplier Accounts. Experience with Financial Services configurations and IFRS-aligned data structures is advantageous.
What We're Looking For
A minimum of 6 to 10 years of experience in data migration roles, with a significant portion focused on Workday Financials implementations. Proven track record of owning the data workstream across multiple full-cycle Workday Finance deployments. Strong understanding of Workday data architecture, including iLoad templates, EIBs (Enterprise Interface Builder), and Studio integrations where relevant. Ability to work across both functional and technical teams, translating complex data requirements into executable migration plans. Experience working within Workday Partner or Big 4 delivery environments strongly preferred. Excellent Excel and data manipulation skills as a baseline. Familiarity with source systems such as SAP, Oracle, Unit4, or Sage is an advantage.
Workday Certifications
Workday Financials certification advantageous. Pro certification in relevant Finance modules beneficial. Data migration or integration-specific Workday training highly regarded.
