Workday Financials Solution Architect – Fully Remote (Permanent)

They are seeking an experienced Workday Financials Solution Architect for a permanent, fully remote position. This role combines architectural leadership with deep, hands-on configuration expertise, and carries direct ownership for designing, building, and governing Workday Financial Management solutions within a sophisticated, regulated environment.
The Role

They are seeking an experienced Workday Financials Solution Architect for a permanent, fully remote position. This role combines architectural leadership with deep, hands-on configuration expertise, and carries direct ownership for designing, building, and governing Workday Financial Management solutions within a sophisticated, regulated environment.
The Role
- Lead the end-to-end solution design and hands-on configuration of Workday Financials across a global organisation
- Act as the senior Financials authority across implementation, enhancement, and optimisation programmes, with direct responsibility for functional build quality
- Perform and oversee detailed configuration across core modules, including:
- General Ledger
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Expenses
- Assets
- Banking
- (and where applicable) Accounting Center
- Partner closely with senior Finance stakeholders to translate business and regulatory requirements into robust, scalable Workday configurations
- Own and govern complex configuration areas such as:
- Chart of Accounts and financial dimensions
- Business process frameworks
- Ledger, company, and entity structures
- Security and role-based access
- Posting rules and accounting logic
- Provide hands-on oversight and contribution to:
- Integrations and inbound/outbound financial interfaces
- Data migration, validation, and reconciliation activities
- Financials reporting, balances, and period-close processes
- Define configuration standards and best practices and shape the long-term Workday Financials roadmap
- Act as a technical escalation point for complex Financials configuration and production issues
- Strong hands-on experience configuring Workday Financial Management in live delivery environments
- Proven experience at Solution Architect or Lead Consultant level, with direct ownership of Financials build decisions
- Deep understanding of:
- Core finance processes
- Accounting principles and controls
- How those translate into Workday configuration
- Experience working in complex, multi-entity, multi-currency environments
- Ability to engage credibly with senior Finance and Transformation leaders while still operating at detailed configuration level
- Accounting Center, Revenue Management, Prism, or Adaptive Planning exposure
- Financial services or other regulated industry experience
- Workday Financials certifications
- Fully remote (UK Based)
