About the Role We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Workday Financials Systems Lead to join our client in a permanent capacity.
This is a hybrid role based in London, offering an exciting opportunity to act as the Workday Subject Matter Expert (SME) within a dynamic, post go-live environment. You will lead the optimisation, configuration, and ongoing support of Workday Financials, ensuring system excellence across key financial process areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Workday Financials SME, owning configuration, optimisation, release management and support activities within a BAU/post go-live context.
  • Manage and enhance Workday Financials modules across Record-to-Report (R2R), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), and Order-to-Cash (O2C) process pillars.
  • Act as the interface between Finance, Technology and other business functions to ensure Workday Financials supports strategic business goals.
  • Drive process improvements and champion best practices in financial systems and operations.
  • Translate business needs into system functionality and work collaboratively with stakeholders to design and deliver scalable Workday solutions.
  • Monitor and support Workday Financials updates and releases, ensuring effective testing, communication, and adoption.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior Workday or finance systems team members.
Essential Experience & Skills
  • Proven Workday Financials experience, ideally within a BAU or post go-live environment.
  • Strong configuration knowledge across multiple modules in R2R, P2P, and O2C.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial processes and financial systems best practices.
  • Track record of leading system optimisation initiatives and managing stakeholder expectations effectively.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain Workday capabilities and roadmaps to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to analyse complex problems and implement efficient system-based solutions.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Workday Financials certifications or formal training
  • Accounting background or degree (preferred, not essential)
