Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, test, and deploy changes within the Workday landscape, covering modules such as HCM, Absences, Time Tracking, Advanced Compensation, Expenses, Talent Optimization, Learning, and Journeys.
- Approximately 50% of the work will involve configuration and enhancement of existing modules.
- Approximately 50% of the work will focus on BAU activities such as change management, reporting, process mapping, and end-user support.
- Act as the first point of contact for HR and end-users on people-system–related inquiries, providing timely and effective support.
- Maintain, create, and enhance custom reports, ensuring accurate and actionable insights for stakeholders. Collaborate with teams to understand reporting requirements and deliver solutions.
- Evaluate, prioritize, and estimate configuration changes and system enhancements in an agile environment, balancing business needs with technical feasibility.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across HR, IT, and other business functions to ensure smooth system operations and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Stay up to date with Workday releases, trends, and best practices, recommending features or process improvements that enhance system efficiency and employee experience.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes and workflows by leveraging system capabilities, data insights, and industry knowledge.
- Provide guidance and training to HR colleagues and end-users on system functionality, updates, and best practices to maximize adoption and effectiveness.
- You will join a small, collaborative Core Identity & People Systems team currently comprising Fabian, Rosario, and a colleague currently on maternity leave (expected return late 2026 / early 2027).
- The role follows a 60% on-site policy. While days on-site are flexible, the lead typically works on-site in Munich on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
- 1–2 years of hands-on Workday experience, specifically with Workday HCM (experience from other systems such as Oracle or SAP is not sufficient).
- Experience in Time Tracking and Absence modules is a bonus.
- Strong passion for HR technology and Workday, with a proactive desire to expand expertise and take ownership of system improvements.
- Ability to translate functional HR requirements into practical system configurations and solutions.
- Analytical mindset with a structured, solution-oriented approach, capable of investigating issues in depth and identifying practical resolutions.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and compliance in system configurations, data management, and reporting.
- Comfortable working independently while managing competing priorities in an agile, collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication skills, able to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
- Bonus points for experience with other HRIS platforms (e.g., SmartRecruiters, Officevibe, SuccessFactors) or additional Workday modules.
- Fluency in English is required; additional language skills are a plus.
