Workday Talent & Performance Specialist

Location: London (1–3 days on-site per week)

Salary: Up to £75,000 + 10% discretionary bonus

The Opportunity
Focus on WD are working with a Workday HCM customer who are currently Live with the system across a number of Workday modules.
They are looking for an experienced Workday Talent & Performance Specialist to join the workday team. This role will be pivotal in driving the successful adoption and continuous improvement of our Workday Talent & Performance modules, ensuring they are optimised to support employee growth, succession planning, and overall business performance.

With a strong grounding in Workday HCM and proven hands-on expertise, you will partner with HR and business stakeholders to translate strategic requirements into effective system solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the subject matter expert for Workday Talent & Performance, with end-to-end ownership of design, configuration, testing, and support.
  • Maintain and enhance Workday Skills, leveraging AI-driven capabilities to improve skills insights and workforce development.
  • Configure and support Peakon (Workday Peakon Employee Voice) to meet business needs, ensuring meaningful insights into employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with HR and business leaders to design, implement, and support talent processes such as performance reviews, succession planning, and career development.
  • Provide guidance on Workday Job Architecture, including organising and restructuring components to support evolving organisational needs.
  • Build and maintain Workday reports and calculated fields to deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Monitor release updates, assess new functionality, and proactively recommend improvements.
  • Support cyclical HR processes, ensuring smooth execution of talent and performance-related activities.
Skills & Experience
  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a Workday Talent & Performance SME, with proven hands-on configuration expertise.
  • Experience in configuring, maintaining, and supporting Peakon to align with business requirements.
  • Strong understanding of Workday HCM and how to operate the platform effectively in a complex environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing Workday Skills, with a comprehensive understanding of associated AI functionalities.
  • Knowledge of Workday Job Architecture, with experience in designing or restructuring frameworks considered an advantage.
  • Proficient in creating and maintaining Workday reports and calculated fields.
  • Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage HR partners and business leaders.
  • Strong communication skills with a proactive, solution-focused mindset.
